Villa La Massa is a unique hotel set outside the city of Florence surrounded by nature and the River Arno in the Tuscan countryside. Being only a few kilometres outside of the city, you have the opportunity to view the city by day and relax in tranquil, peaceful surroundings in the evenings. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to take you in and bring you back from Florence. If you are driving through Tuscany it will take 20 minutes to drive to the Duomo Cathedral from the hotel.

 Style and Character

Part of the Leading Hotels of the World, Villa La Massa is a 16th century Medici estate which was transformed into a luxury hotel retreat in 1948. It sits majestically on the banks of the River Arno, with 22 acres of lemon trees and olive groves surrounding the hotel. The building is reminiscent of a fine Renaissance palace set amongst the picture perfect Tuscan landscape. There are 27 Renaissance style rooms mostly comprising suites and junior suites which span three buildings: the Noble Villa, the Mill and the little Villa. Most rooms offer four poster beds draped in classic fabrics, with ceiling frescoes, wooden and tile floors and marble bathrooms.

 Food

There are several restaurants and bars in Villa La Massa, Il Verrocchio, The Medicean Bar and Pool Bar and the Cellar. Menus include specialities from Tuscany and the Mediterranean region, sommeliers have chosen over 400 labels which represent Tuscan and Italian wines to offer guests. Breakfast and dinner are served in Il Verrocchio where dietary requirements are also taken into consideration.

 Good to Know

In the Noble Villa the Medecian Bar and Pool Bar offers italian beverages and cocktails. Open during the summer months it is located near the swimming pool with a view of the River Arno and spectacular vistas of the Tuscan countryside.
