The gardens are part of the Palazzo Pitti, a combination ticket can be purchased for the museums and the gardens.

It is the home to many sculptures dating from the 16th to 18th centuries. The open garden was one of the largest, if not the largest green area in Florence, the grottos, amphitheatre and garden temples attracted visitors from far and wide and they still do.
