Tibidabo

Away from and above the city, a great way to spend a late afternoon with kids and the family.

Know Before You Go

You can take the funicular, the bus, or trek up from the base.
The views are spectacular from the top.
It is worth buying wristbands for multiple rides at the funfair.
The surrounding park Colserolla is a great place for hiking and biking.
Keep aside half a day or more to truly enjoy the place.
Part of the Collserola range, Mt. Tibidabo stands at 532 meters tall and dominates Barcelona. At the top is a reference point for all the inhabitants of the city, the Norman Foster telecommunication tower. Of course Mt. Tibidabo offers amazing views of Barcelona, and on a good day you can even see as far as the Pyrenees! There are also two attractions to check out on the mountain, the cathedral where the Jesus statue is an old-fashioned amusement park with rides such as the ghost train, big dipper, and bumper cars. If you get hungry, there is a little bar/cafe with outdoor seating. While there are many ways to get to the top, the best way is to take the Funicular, a trolley that goes up the side of the mountain. A great place to see stunning views of the city!
