Know Before You Go

It might be tricky to find on a tiny side street in Barceloneta.
Spicy Tuna and steak & foie are favorites, along with the home brewed beer which is pretty good.
The interior is narrow and feels busy; the staff in sailor outfits add quirkiness.
This is a very local hangout with almost no English spoken.
Located in the heart of Barcelona, El Vaso de Oro is a popular, authentic tapas bar in an unusual space. Inside is long and narrow, reminiscent of a cruise ship bar, with counter seating. You may have to elbow your way to a spot and loudly demand your order, but there are a variety of dishes to choose from including chorizitos, patatas, bravas, solomillo (cubed steak), or atun (tuna which they serve spicy). Of course they also serve traditional tapas such as black sausage, padron peppers, anchovies, or jamon Serrano. As for drinks they brew their own beer which they take enormous pride in the storage, handling and pouring of. A good stop if doing a brew tour of Barcelona!
